Our aim is to to produce Ard Sugar Daddy to be a star. He is a true allrounder, mainly because he has many obvious talents rolled into one, in a 'not over big' horse with the addition of his colour. His full sister Ard Spun Sugar is pictured here (right) jumping loose in Cavan as a 3 y'old. She is now in America. She bred a beautiful palomino filly by Ard VDL Douglas who is now in England. This picture of Spun Sugar was taken at the Cavan Loose jumping qualifier. We made the stupid mistake of putting front tendon boots on her for the first time! We thought it would show up her good foreleg technique. Instead she jumped over high and a bit loose, but she was always an impressive jumper.

His pedigree

His sire, Ard Ohio (picture here at 3)

Ard Ohio, I chose this picture, not for correctness, but this was how Ohio liked to go! These uprights are big and Ohio loved to jump using his scope and gusto, he jumped for fun.

Ard Ohio, at 5 years old jumping in competition with Neil Fearon .

Ard Caramel at 3, a dun daughter of Ard Ohio's.

His dam, Rosie is half Connemara, half Thoroughbred. Every foal she produced has been dun in colour to all different stallions. Here she is at Trim Show (the tallest dun) starting her riding career late in life with Andrew Crowe.

I have only started to put this page together and won't have time to add more until the end of the week
