Reserve Supreme Champion Ballinalee Connemara Pony Show  9/June/02 after winning the Stallion Class.

A beautiful pony with loads of scope and a great temperament.

Details; Ard Archer (1109) was inspected at the end of April and is now fully approved. He is  available at stud. He is the only son of Ard Conneely standing in Ireland. So far Archer has jumped in a couple of training shows before he arrived to us. He was 3rd in the loose jumping finals in the North. He has only entered the show ring twice so far, where he was Champion Stallion and Reserve Supreme Champion Ballnalee Show '02 and 2nd in the RDS Dublin Horse Show in that same year. We have seen excellent foals by him arrive back this year and he is a great asset to the stud because he does all the teasing for the odd 3oo mares that pass through here.

Sire Ard Conneely (898) Supreme Champion Connemara, Clifden National Show in 1992 , Our biggest and main show of Connemaras of the year. He was also Supreme Champion Connemara at the RDS Dublin Horse Show in 1994. He won showjumping and WHP classes but most of all he was a real family pony. He was 2nd in the Ridden Performance Testing programme gaining the highest marks for rideability. It was noted that he had the second greatest bone measurement of the ponies on test. Second to Ard Talisman who had the greatest bone, and was, incidentally, also sired by Ard Bridge Time. I say this because people always would say Ard Conneely looks light, but it was just his beauty that relayed this impression.  He has since gone to Belgium to live with Thierry Storme and his family, where he rides, drives and lives out with his band of registered mares producing beautiful foals.

Grand Sire Ard Bridge Time (277) Champion Connemara Stallion Ballinaslow Show three times at the age of 17,18 and 19.

Great Grand Sire Bridge Boy (127) Supreme Champion Connemara, Clifden National Show three times. Became a Champion in his new home the County of Denmark.

Grand Dam Ard Khana (6262) A brilliant Pony. She won a lot showjumping becoming grade 'B' with a novice rider at the time, John Carey. She represented Ireland on the WHP teams in England with Adrian Sharpe. She was Connemara Ridden winner in the Dublin Horse Show with Heike Holstien, She won Clifden Connemara Show and Galway Show with Heather along with numerous other shows. She hunted, won dressage, was Champion brood mare with Foal, IPS National Show. She was placed 3rd in the big mare class Clifden. And she is still with us here in Ard Cherrymount Stud at the great age of 29

Meternal Great Grand Sire Carna Bobby (79) One of the most famous Connemaras of all time. He won Clifden Five times! He was a most famous sire with a huge number of Grade 'A' progany  and show Champions after him, most notably Ashfield Bobby Sparrow who was Champion European Showjumping Pony for Ireland. Today many grade 'A' connamaras go back to him. He stamped them with his quality, flowing movement, their big canter, their beautiful heads and surf white coats.

Meternal Great Grand Dam Oranmore Stardust (2583) A pony that did everything, eventing Jumping Dressage etc. Like her daughter, she also won the Ridden Connemara class in Galway show.

Dam Wilville Star (9843) There is not much to say about her only that she was a true type of Connemara mare. Plenty of substance, but was never shown did anything other than breed at home with her owner. She was chestnut like so many if the very early mares in the studbook were.
